Steve Freeman is the inventor of The Flexi Scraper moss removal tool. Since 2003 he has been running an outside surface care cleaning and restoration company called Freemans Surface Care in Banbury, Oxfordshire. For the last six years he has successfully cleaned and treated roofing across the country, and continues to do so. He has predominantly softwashed roofs either by softwash chemical treatment.  As Britain is a damp country building roofs become carpeted in moss, which can damage tiles, block gutters and downpipes, and generally make a mess over drives, patios and other areas. As it is advisable not to walk or gain access on roofing, due to health and safety and fragile roofs, Steve Freeman has always cleared the moss first with different tools, garden hoes, trowels, stiff brushes and other hand held tools. This has mostly been from a mobile scaffold platform and from gutter height. Most roofs have different pitches and hard to reach areas, but he could not find anything to remove moss effectively. After a few attempts, with old window cleaning squeegees and poles, he designed this scraper head, which not only tilts up and down to the pitch of the roof, but also swivels left and right to clear moss, without moving your mobile towers, ladders and boom lifts as much if you were not using them. ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​

He has cleaned many roofs over the years, and this tool has been made in the UK by skilled CNC machinists and steel fabricators for the steel blades. These will make your roof cleaning safer, and ergonomically easier on your body. They will fit on any water fed poles already used, and can be adapted to fit into other poles with the correct inserts. Following extensive testing, these will come with a nylon adjustable wheel. They have been tried with the quick release clamps, however they rattle loose with the constant movement. They will also come with shake proof washers and lock nuts for the blades to be held in place. Again, following strenuous testing helicoils were tried, but after continuous use they also pulled free. This scraper is affordable for the user, and for them to make their roof clearing work much better.
