Function of a Pressure Switch on Shurflo Pumps:

Regulates Pump Cycling: The pressure switch monitors the pressure within the system and controls when the pump turns on or off. It ensures that the pump only operates when needed, preventing dry running or unnecessary operation.

When Pressure Drops: If the pressure drops below a preset threshold (e.g., due to fluid demand), the pressure switch activates the pump to restore the pressure.

When Pressure Reaches Set Point: Once the pressure reaches the desired level, the switch turns the pump off, stopping it from running and conserving energy

Prevents Over-Pressurization: The switch helps prevent the system from reaching excessive pressure by automatically stopping the pump when the system pressure is within the safe operational range.

Improves Longevity: By controlling the pump’s cycling (avoiding constant start/stop or overuse), the pressure switch reduces wear on both the pump and motor, extending their lifespan.

Energy Efficiency: The pressure switch contributes to energy savings by ensuring the pump runs only when necessary, thus conserving power when there’s no flow demand.
